Image West Scanimate video FX was seen in commercials, sports opens, show/news openings & music videos.
Image West real-time motion graphics was used for TV between the 1970s and early 1980s.
The core "genre" was motion graphics itself, manipulating text, logos & shapes with a characteristic raw, organic analog look that set it apart from film-based animation techniques of the time. The speed of real-time production made it ideal for fast-paced demands of broadcast industry.

Earth Wind & Fire music video effects were created by Ron Hayes, creative director at Image West Ltd. using the Scanimate.
Image West Scanimate system originated the trendy 'color feedback' effect using real-time motion graphics popular in the early 1980's.

Created all ads at the Bullock's Headquarters in Downtown Los Angeles.
Ads targeted affluent shoppers highlighting new fashion trends.
Created appealing 'display ads' for Bullock's Wilshire.
Primarily used paste-up type and photo elements for display ads.
Created 'column ads' in magazine and newspaper for Bullock's Wilshire.
Created 'catalog mailers' for Bullock's Wilshire. They were sent multiple times per year in the 1980s.

Al Ebner's publicity team worked on the 10th & 11th floor at MCA Records aka The Black Tower.
At MCA Universal Music Group Publicity; I spent most of my day on the 10th floor at "MCA World Headquarters" in Universal City California.
Created tickets, posters, ad slicks, promos for Gladys Knight LIVE 1986 Aquarius Theater Hollywood

Created all advertising, posters, tickets for MCA Records artists: Elton John, Johnny Paycheck, The Beach Boys

Graphics for Thriller, Michael Jackson: Money for Nothing, Dire Straits: Every Breath You Take, The Police: Take On Me, A-ha.
Publicity picked up in the early 80s and our strong publicity team met each challenge.

We designed materials like press kits, album covers, and posters, adhering to a strict template; our main creative challenge was fitting it all into the limited space.

Early in my teaching career, I began a successful Sign Painters' Club for elementary.
Through this art club, 4th-6th grade students eagerly fulfilled banner requests from admin & teachers.
With guidance, students were encouraged to design and create unique lettering.
Working as a team, promoting their school's major fundraiser: "Garden Tours". Learning excellent publicity skills!
Fulfilling banner requests: students were challenged and eager to do their creative best.
Art students understood their colorful banners contributed greatly to the success of "Garden Tours" their school fundraiser.
Sign Painters' Club became increasingly more popular. They were a creative & confident group of young artists.
A well-deserved springtime "Pizza & Ice Cream Appreciation Party" just for them! To celebrate our 30+ hard-working artists!

Their final assignment: Each student painted a letter for their graduation poster.
My first day of teaching silk screening to kindergarteners
So popular, all teachers requested I teach silk screen to K thru 6th.
Providing individual instruction to each student.
Silk-screened paint directly onto leaves, placed over cotton fabric.
Students were excited to hang up their fabric prints to dry. Each was unique and became a personal Mother's Day gift to mom!
This "potato printed" tablecloth made by 4th graders for their school auction sold for $1K supporting their art program.
Making uniquely cute hand drawn Thanksgiving turkey character storybooks (by tracing their hands) with 1st graders.
Learning to decorate cakes takes patience and concentration. Promotes fine motor skills. development.
Linoleum Block Printing is creative & rewarding.
Creating beautiful art prints and greeting cards!
Paper Making promotes cognitive development.
